As a business, one has opted the
route to procure a franchised cleaning business. How
then should one go about the business? It all
depends on the provisions of the franchise
agreement. There are many choices available to one
in this field; one may expand and hire personnel to
help run the business, or one may help in engaging
clients for the cleaning service. Or one may just be
financial owner, giving only money and let the
business run itself with help from the parent
company. But there are a few things one should
remember when running a successful cleaning
business.
First and foremost is concern for the client. Seeing
that one’s business provides for the needs of the
business is what should be most important. Also,
remember that how the client sees the service
provided at the light of day is very different from
how one sees the work done after office hours. Many
times, it would be an unexpected source of grime
which may ruin the whole picture for the service
provider. So as a proactive service provider,
meeting the client and seeing the quality of work
when the client sees it would make the service more
attuned to the needs of the business. What the
client wants the client should get as a matter of
protocol.
The other component to great service is the hiring
of skilled and dependable personnel. With good
people, one establishes rapport with the client as
one is entrusted with the office area after all the
client’s personnel have gone home. One thus needs
conscientious and careful people under one’s
supervision who are able to provide the service to
the client and at the same time on the look out for
the company’s own interests. It is also important
that not only should they have the rudimentary
skills for it, but who sill also be professional
enough to perform the work diligently and with great
passion. There must be a balance struck between
these qualities, but primary amongst them is the
professionalism and the dedication of the personnel.
Having the right products and equipment being used
in the work is a matter that is also worth looking
into. Without the proper cleaning paraphernalia, the
business would be doomed to fail. Though it may seem
trivial, having the dependable cleaning solutions,
polishes and waxes which do not cause damage but
actually clean surfaces is the best tool for the
business. Having the proper equipment, from vacuums
cleaner, waste baskets and dispensers available for
use would be essential as this is the element which
actually leaves the cleaning area better than
before.
So the three elements needed for the success of a
cleaning business are as follows: financial backing,
exemplary personnel and workable equipment and
supplies. Being a franchise helps as all these would
be complete except for the personnel, but if one is
a start up one would start all three from scratch.
Without one of these, the business would falter and
if any one fails then instead of earning profit one
would be counting losses.
